WhatsApp is a popular messaging service. Discussions pile up there, but what to do when a contact isn’t responding? Has he blocked us? Here’s how to find out.
You use WhatsApp every day, but one of your contacts has not replied to you for several days, it may be that you have been blocked. To find out, here is WhatsApp: how do you know if someone has blocked you on WhatsApp ?
- When you click on a conversation, at the top of the screen, WhatsApp tells you when that person was last seen.
- Acknowledgments of receipt: you have noticed the ticks next to your messages, if one is displayed in blue, it means that the message has been sent, if both turn blue, it means that the recipient received and read the message. However, if the person read the message through Quick View or turned off read receipts, the information will not be resent.
- Another more meaningful check to do is to see if you can view the person’s profile picture. If you can’t view it, it means you’re either blocked or the person hasn’t uploaded a photo to their profile.
- Finally, a final method is to use groups. If by creating a new multi-chat you can’t add someone to that group, it most likely means you’ve been blocked by that same person.
As you will understand, WhatsApp does not provide any official verification method (just like Facebook, the owner of WhatsApp, see our article: Facebook: how to know if someone has blocked you on Facebook? ).
The best method is still direct dialogue if you have the possibility and want to. Ask the person frankly if they’ve blocked you and try to find out what may have caused this reaction.
